General Surgery

General Surgery is a medical discipline that performs surgical treatments for trauma and diseases in many parts of the body. General surgery clinics, which carry out the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up processes alone in many surgical operations, also interact and exchange views with many other medical disciplines. In these units, whose area of expertise covers the surgical treatment of many diseases related to many parts of the body, physicians who have received specialization training in general surgery in addition to their medical license serve.

Many surgical treatment practices such as oncological surgery (cancer surgery), minimally invasive surgery (small incision surgery or laparoscopic surgery), obesity and diabetes surgery, proctology (anal region surgeries) fall within the expertise of general surgery units. In all diseases that require surgical treatment, minimally invasive surgical methods should be used as much as possible. With the help of these practices, also called small incision surgery, operations that in the past required a much longer recovery time and had a high risk of complications in the form of open surgery can be performed with the help of small incisions with minimum risk. These practices, which shorten the duration of hospital stay, are also very effective in increasing the success of treatment as they reduce the risk of complications.
